Marisa Quinn
Candidate for Town Council
I grew up in Jamestown and am a proud graduate of Jamestown School (class of ’77!), North Kingstown High School, and URI. After college, I worked as a legislative aide for Senator Claiborne Pell in Washington, DC, and earned my master’s in public policy from Rutgers. In 1996, I moved back to Jamestown to raise my son on the island. Today, I live at West Ferry with my husband, Jay Sisson, and our yellow lab, Henry.
My career has been at the intersection of policy, planning and communications – as a policy advisor for the Governor of NJ, a public affairs specialist for the Port Authority of NY and NJ, and for 22 years at Brown University in a variety of roles. In 2021, I launched Conanicut Strategies, a consulting practice helping university leaders build relationships and get things done. I served 10 years on the RI Ethics Commission – five as chair – and this year chaired Jamestown’s Fort Getty Ad Hoc Committee.
I’m running for Town Council because I love Jamestown – always have, always will. There’s important work to do on land use, water management, affordable housing and more. I hope to earn your vote and the opportunity to help shape the policies we need to sustain the community we value.
