Lisa Tuttle
Candidate for School Committee

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Lisa has happily called Jamestown home for the last 24 years. Both of her sons – now 20 and 22 – attended Melrose and Lawn Schools and graduated from North Kingstown High School.

Lisa has a background in biology and genetics and holds degrees from Cornell University and Brandeis University. She was a practicing genetic counselor for a few years before putting her career on hold to be a stay at home mom. Shortly after her older son started kindergarten at Melrose, Lisa began a 15 year journey of volunteering and working at the Jamestown Schools. She was secretary, treasurer, and president of the Jamestown PTO (not all at the same time!) for a decade and worked for the school district for 13 years – first as a substitute teacher, then as a teaching assistant and part-time Lawn School secretary. For the last 6 years, she has also served on the Board of the Jamestown Education Foundation.

She currently works from home as a marketing manager for a national pharmacy company. She also maintains a robust private tutoring schedule and counts many Jamestown students – past and present – as “her kids.” She loves puzzles and games, reading, traveling, her golden retriever Kiko, and spending time with her family.

Lisa is excited and honored to continue her service to the youth of Jamestown as a school committee member. She is hopeful that her wide range of experiences as a Jamestown Schools parent, volunteer, and employee will be a strong asset to the group and its mission.
