Where: Old Tower Hill Rd, between Rte 1 and Kingstown Rd, in Wakefield, RI
May 4 is the anniversary of Rhode Island‘s Declaration of Independence from the Crown, under King George III, in 1776. “We defeated the crown. Let’s defeat the clown! Say no to tyranny!” May 4th is also the 55th anniversary of the massacre at Kent State University, where Ohio National Guardsmen sprayed tear gas and then opened fire on students protesting the escalation of the Vietnam war into Cambodia. College campuses are again under scrutiny as students attempting to exercise their first amendment rights are detained and sometimes arrested. Thousands of foreign students have had their visas revoked.
